Smashing Pumpkins Reunion Tour Highlight Epic 2018 Summer Tour Lineup

The Smashing Pumpkins have officially joined an epic lineup of Summer Tours in 2018. Their three-quarters reunion may be the most anticipated tour in a while.

Well, the countdown on The Smashing Pumpkins website kept the music world in a frenzy. While many people already suspected it was a reunion tour announcement, there was always that slight bit of doubt. It’s now official.

This marks frontman Billy Corgan, guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin’s first tour together since back in 2000. Unfortunately, the band’s original bassist D’Arcy Wretzky will not join the trio on their North American Tour this summer. Intentionally, the tour coincides with the 30th anniversary for the Pumpkins.

“This show and staging will be unlike any we’ve ever done, and will feature a set unlike any we’ve ever played. For if this is a chance at a new beginning, we plan on ushering it in with a real bang,” Corgan told Rolling Stone.

On the surface, the Pumpkins will join an already exhilarating list of Summer tours. Joining an epic tour list, including Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, and Foo Fighters, The Pumpkins’ Tour may be one of if not the most anticipated. Don’t be surprised if it sells out quick.

More than likely, they’ll perform mostly songs from their albums Gish, Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and of course The Infinite Sadness. I’ll be sure to enjoy a night of 90’s nostalgia on August 17th when the Pumpkins invade Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
